Bedlington Terriers were relegated to the Northern League Division Two after a 4-2 defeat to Consett sealed their inevitable fate at Welfare Park.

Danny Craggs and Luke Sullivan handed the visitors a deserved two-goal lead in the game after a dominant first-half performance, which also saw Nathan Steel hit the bar.  (more…)

Terriers receive highly prestigious accolade

Bedlington Terriers’ matchday programme ‘The Terrier’ has picked up a highly prestigious honour after it was voted as the best in the Northern League for the first time in their history.

There are 44 teams that compete every season for the award, and the Terriers fought off the competition to come out on top of the pile.

North Shields came second behind The Terrier, while South Shields and Jarrow Roofing claimed third and fourth spot respectively. (more…)

Terriers game against Washington postponed

Four days straight of rain took its toll at the weekend as Bedlington Terriers’ game with Washington at the Nissan Sports Ground was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Despite the efforts of groundstaff and volunteers, the inspecting referee deemed the pitch unplayable and the fixture list has, once again, had to be reshuffled. (more…)

Bedlington Terriers managed to capture the signing of defender Phil Cave in the closing stages of Northern League Deadline Day.

The 28-year-old has experience in abundance and has played for a host of league and non-league sides throughout his career, including Gateshead and Blyth Spartans.  (more…)

Bedlington have five games to save their season

It is now crunch time for Bedlington Terriers, who only have five games remaining this season, as they look to avoid relegation to Division Two.

What a five games those are too, as they face four of the top six sides in what is a crucial stage of the season, with the Terriers sitting third bottom in the division.

They have played more games than any other side in the bottom eight, with the exception of West Allotment Celtic, and a 4-1 defeat to Sunderland RCA at the weekend means it is backs against the wall time at Welfare Park.  (more…)

Terriers suffer loss to RCA in crucial match

Bedlington Terriers suffered a killer blow in their relegation battle as they went down 4-1 to Sunderland RCA at Meadow Park.

Jonny Wightman put the hosts ahead inside four minutes, and he added a second on 22 minutes, before Michael Baxter halved the deficit five minutes before the break.

Jennings saw red for a head-butt on Paul Stoneman, and the latter was also sent for an early shower after retaliating to the incident.  (more…)

Bedlington Terriers assistant manager Craig Heward believes the side need to go on a winning run now otherwise it is “goodnight” for them.

The games are running out now, says Heward, and he was left disappointed after the Terriers didn’t take anything from the game after being in a positive position “once again”.

“It is simple, we need a run of three, four or five wins otherwise it is goodnight for us,” he said. (more…)

Late goal kills hope of a point for Terriers

Jordan Fry’s late header proved to be the killer blow for Bedlington Terriers as they were edged out by Morpeth Town at Welfare Park.

Sean Taylor handed the visitors a deserved lead in the game on 25 minutes, but Jonathan Wright’s wonder strike on 72 minutes gave the hosts hope.

However, just like the reverse fixture back in September, Morpeth scored a winner in the final 10 minutes of the game after Jordan Fry headed home at the back post. (more…)
