Avenue bring in striker Sinclair
Bradford Park Avenue head coach Alex Meechan has added experienced forward Emile Sinclair to his squad ahead of tonight’s match with Darlington.
The pacey, powerful frontman, 28, has a rich history in the Football League, playing for clubs such as Nottingham Forest, Peterborough United and Macclesfield Town.
He leaves fellow National League North club Altrincham, where he has scored one goal in four appearances this season.
Starting his career in the Bradford City youth academy, Sinclair earned himself a move to Forest, and after impressing, signed a two-year deal in 2007.
However after loan spells at Brentford, Mansfield and Macclesfield, Sinclair was released, and joined the Silkmen permanently in the summer of 2009.
13 goals in 78 league appearances at Moss Rose attracted Peterborough’s attention, and they paid an undisclosed fee for the forward on transfer deadline day in August 2011.
He grabbed 13 goals in his 47 appearances at London Road, but spent the majority of the 2012-13 campaign on loan at Barnsley and Donacaster Rovers, before moving to Crawley for £100,000 in 2013.
Stints at Northampton and York followed, and Sinclair ended last season on loan at Avenue’s near neighbours Guiseley.
Meechan’s side have failed to score in any of their last three outings, and are still chasing their first win of the season, 10 games in.
Sinclair goes straight into the squad for this (Wednesday) evening’s match against Darlington at the Horsfall Stadium.
In other news, goalkeeper Ryan Jones has left the club.
The goalkeeper, who has been with Bradford since last March, had made four appearances this season, but poor form led to the loan signing of Joe Cracknell, and the club can confirm Jones’ departure
