Bedlington Terriers winger Mason Stephenson says that it has been frustrating not playing, but the last week has been “a good week” for him.
The 20-year-old was part of the fixtures and fittings at the start of the season, but only recently has he gotten back into the starting XI.
“The game against Norton & Stockton capped off a good week for me,” Stephenson said.
“It feels good to be back playing again, it was frustrating not really playing much, but I have been given another chance, so hopefully I can take it.
“The way I reacted after the goal showed that. It meant a lot to score and to be playing, it has been a good week for me, hopefully it continues.”
Stephenson scored Bedlington’s third of the afternoon in their 5-3 win against Norton, and the youngster believes his side can avoid the drop.
He said: “We definitely need to pick up points, and fast, but every game is winnable if we play like we did against Bishop Auckland and in the second-half today.
“I believe we can stay up this season, nobody wants to get relegated and the dressing room was great to be in on Saturday.”
After the Morpeth Town game on Easter Monday, the Terriers have only seven games to save their season and avoid relegation to Division Two of the Northern League.
