Quakers boss raring to go
Darlington travel to Hyde United this weekend hoping to play their first fixture of December.
The weather has disrupted the Quakers’ campaign over the last two months, with the defeat at Barwell being the only league fixture completed since October.
However, Quakers have had a triple boost this week — midfielder Phil Turnbull has declared himself fit to play, the return to Blackwell Meadows has edged closer, while the league has imposed a suspended points deduction for an ineligible player.
Hyde United had a great run in October which sees them sit in the top half of the table, just five points outside of the playoffs. Despite this, they haven’t won any of their last five league games.
MG said: “We’re very keen to get back into action. It’s been frustrating having these games called off, but we just have to get on with it.
“We’ve had a good week in training this week on Monday and Wednesday, and there’s been plenty of hard work done, which we hope will benefit us over the busy period ahead.”
