West boss Campbell hopes Vase win is a turning point
West Auckland Town manager Andy Campbell is hoping that his side’s 4-2 extra time win at Darwen in the second qualifying round of the Vase on Saturday is a turning point for them.
West have only won once in ten league games this season, but Campbell is hoping that they will be able to build on this win.
“Darwen is a tough place to go to and win,” he said. “We should have been more than 1-0 up at half time, and when we went 2-1 down, the lads kept their composure, worked hard and were really confident. I’m pleased that we’ve given something back to the club and the fans.”
