Marwood returns to Tynesiders
Winger James Marwood has completed a return to Gateshead after securing his release from Forest Green Rovers.
The former Newcastle United academy product had moved to the New Lawn last summer, moving from SPL side St Mirren.
In his time with Rovers he made sixteen appearances, scoring one goal.
The twenty five year old spent a four year spell with Gateshead between 2010 and 2014 with his final appearance coming in their Conference play-off final defeat to Cambridge United.
The winger wrote on his Twitter account “First of all I would like to thank Ady at FGR for allowing me to leave. He’s a good guy in football and he understands that for me to be happy I need to go home.
As soon as that was sorted a while ago and I knew I could return to Gateshead it was perfect for me. I’ve spent my happiest times there and the club is littered with good people from top to bottom. Delighted to have signed and be back where I belong on unfinished business”
