JIMMY SMITH MEMORIAL CHARITY MATCH
On Saturday 2nd May, the fans of Marske United are coming together to play a charity match in the memory of club stalwart Jimmy Smith who sadly passed away in May last year. The game brings together the Chicken Run Collective and the Tin Shed Titans, both named due to where they stand at the GER Stadium. The game kicks off at 3.30pm and everyone is welcome to come and watch. There will be no entry fee but there will be a collection in aid of The Haematology Endowment Fund at James Cook University Hospital, where Jimmy was treated for his illness. Everyone is welcome to attend and have a laugh (probably at the expense of the players) and most importantly raise some money for a great cause. The game will see the younger lads from the Tin Shed against the more mature gentleman from the Chicken Run, who are hoping they will be able to field some Northern League experience in ex-Marske striker Chris McGill, who was a close friend of Jimmy.
In the evening, there will a race night and the Marske United FC Presentation Evening at the Zetland Hotel in Marske.
