Bedlington Terrier Debutante Goalkeeper Luc Glasper (Andrew McDonnell)

Glasper – “I Want to Make Position my Own”

By Andrew McDonnell

Bedlington Terriers goalkeeper Luc Glasper wants to make the number one position his own after keeping a clean sheet against title-chasing West Auckland Town.

Glasper, who was making his debut for Bedlington yesterday, was recalled to the club following his loan spell at Alnwick Town and made the position his own.

He said: “Playing with Alnwick in the Northern League second [division] and it’s a big step up to play in this side. I have learnt a lot, so I think it has given me experience.

“I think it is very important to make the number one position my own, I’ve waited almost a full season and this is my time, I just need to try and keep my spot now.”

Throughout the 90 minutes Luc was called upon to make saves to keep his side in the game and the defence showed real courage and quality when they were called upon.

Glasper added: “I think we deserved what we got out the game today, most definitely, we led from the front all the way through, and we were comfortable.”
