United Stalwart Steps Down From Managerial Role

Vince Kirkup is stepping down as team manager at Northern League Division Two club Brandon United. He will continue as commercial manager, an additional role he took on earlier this year. His decision ends thirty-seven years in team management, chiefly at Stanley United.

The club is now seeking applications from people interested in looking after first-team affairs.

Chairman Bill Fisher said: “Ideally the person will have knowledge of the local football scene and be able to recruit, coach and motivate players.”

An experienced person would be preferred, said Bill, though the role could suit someone either still playing or have just ended their playing career.

Applications are asked to be sent to club secretary Barry Ross on 07717673090, or via email at barryross501@gmail.com.
