Jason Ainsley, manager of Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One North club Spennymoor Town, has called Lee McAndrew a ‘model professional’ after he left on Monday.
The 29-year-old left the Brewery Field in search of regular first-team football.
McAndrew can play on either flank or through the middle, and weighed in with twelve goals in his fourth and final season at Northern League Division One club Dunston UTS before becoming Ainsley’s second signing of the summer.
Ainsley said: “Lee can argue that he hasn’t had a great deal of opportunities to start and I accept that but the tremendous performances Anthony Peacock has been putting in has been a major factor in that.
“Lee has decided he wants to play week in week out which is something I couldn’t guarantee him. He has been a model professional whilst with us and is a top lad to go with it. I wish him every success at his new club.”
